Waxes

A traditional antique furniture wax polish for the renovation and upkeep of wooden antique furniture. These products are not intended for use as a protective film on an un-lacquered surface.

Available in light, medium or dark shades. Care must be taken to select the correct colour, as it must match the colour of the item being waxed.

Jacpol is a blend of beeswax with selected natural and synthetic waxes dissolved in white spirit. Formulated specifically for application to pre-lacquered and antique substrates to enhance the natural beauty of the furniture.

Application

1. Apply Jacpol sparingly to lacquered surfaces with a soft lint-free cloth
2. Rub Jacpol with the grain to remove slight imperfections such as minor scratches and dust
3. After 15 minutes, polish with a soft dry lint-free cloth

Optimum application is achieved between 18°C and 22°C with good air movement and ventilation.

Maintenance

Build up of discoloured wax over time can be removed by lightly washing with white spirit. Finished products should not be subjected to temperatures below 2°C.

Morrells® cellulose wax filler sticks have been specifically formulated to repair small imperfections that may only become visible after the first coat of lacquer or varnish has been applied. However, they can also be used successfully prior to the first coat of lacquer or varnish being applied, filling nail holes and smaller cracks and splits on any wood type.

• Before use, ensure that areas to be filled are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surface contaminants. If possible, roughen or scratch the inside of the area to be filled so that the wax has a better key to adhere to.
• Once dried, an appropriate wood stain, such as Morrells Light Fast Wood Stain, a Morrells wood lacquer or other suitable lacquer or varnish can then be applied.
